Making a Difference for Animals in Our Community
This month, our team had the opportunity to volunteer at Citizens for Animal Protection, a Houston nonprofit dedicated to sheltering, rescuing, and placing pets in loving homes. Since 1972, CAP has been a voice for animals, offering programs in shelter and care, humane education, spay and neuter services, and community outreach.
Stepping into the shelter, we were immediately struck by the dedication of the staff and volunteers. Every detail, from the clean and organized spaces to the loving attention given to each animal, reflected CAP’s commitment to protecting lives that cannot speak for themselves. Spending time walking, socializing, and caring for the animals gave our team a new perspective on the importance of compassion and service in all areas of life.
Volunteering at CAP reminded us that protection takes many forms. Just as we work to safeguard our clients’ homes, businesses, and families, CAP safeguards the lives and well-being of animals who need care and love. These moments of giving back are more than an activity for our team, they are an expression of Parkway’s “Caring Makes the Difference” philosophy in action.
